Trek to Provide On-Site Technical Assistance to Racers With Minor Bike Issues

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 6, 2015) – MX Sports and 15-Time National Champion Ricky Carmichael are pleased to welcome Trek bicycles to the sixth annual Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross.

Trek will have its Project One custom truck on-site for this weekend’s amateur supercross event, taking place Sunday, March 8 and Monday, March 9 at Daytona International Speedway. In addition to a display area, Trek will provide support to racers with minor bike issues throughout the weekend.

“Trek has been looking for ways to reach new audiences and the opportunity that Daytona Supercross presents is ideal,” said Race Shop Manager Scott Daubert. “Customization is something everybody on two wheels appreciates and we're pumped to unveil all of the custom capabilities Trek offers with our Project One custom truck on display over the weekend. We will also be offering technical to help with any minor bike issues people have throughout the event.”

In addition to their support of the RCSX event, Daytona Bicycle Center, a local Trek dealer, will be hosting Ricky Carmichael and amateur motocross racer Austin Forkner for an autograph signing this Friday, March 6 at 6 – 7 p.m. Daytona Bicycle Center is located at 362A W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174.

The RCSX class structure includes classes for youth riders on 50cc bikes all the way up to vet and senior classes. The race will follow a supercross format, using heat races and last chance qualifiers to seed the field of riders into a main event in each class, over the course of two days. Unlike the Loretta Lynn Ranch format, riders do not need to qualify at other races in order to participate in the Daytona event.

This event will kick off the opening round of the Women’s Motocross (WMX) Championship, featuring a WMX class for riders who are pre-approved for a 2015 WMX license, in addition to Women Amateur (12+) 99-250cc and Girls (9-13) 79-85cc 2-Stk. About Ricky Carmichael

Ricky Carmichael won 102 American Motorcycle Association (AMA) Motocross Nationals and 48 AMA Supercross main events for a record 150 major wins between 1997 and 2007. The Tallahassee, Fla., resident won 10 AMA Motocross Championships and five AMA Supercross crowns, giving him a record 15 major titles in his career.
