Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Offers Over $147,000 in Manufacturer Contingency to Racers
RCSX Welcomes Manufacturer Support Teams
The Seventh Annual Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross (RCSX) is set to give away $147,525 in amateur contingency to racers participating in this year’s two-day event at the iconic Daytona International Speedway (DIS) in Daytona Beach, Florida. This unique race takes center stage following Saturday’s Daytona Supercross by Honda, with qualifying on Sunday, March 6 and finals following on Monday, March 7.
This year all seven major factory OEM’s including Kawasaki, Yamaha, KTM, Suzuki, Honda, Husqvarna and Cobra are offering up generous contingency programs to amateur racers. In addition to their hefty contingency programs, all seven manufacturers will have trackside support teams on-site to lend a hand to support amateur racers on their respective brand at DIS.
“We are overwhelmed with the support from all of the manufacturers for the seventh running of this prestigious event,” said MX Sports Director Tim Cotter. “Not only have these companies posted substantial contingency programs for our athletes, their rigs and staff will be on hand with factory support.”
This event also serves as the opening round of the 10-round Womens Motocross Championship (WMX), featuring the fastest females on two wheels. Racers must be pre-approved for a 2016 WMX license before registering to race the event. For more information on the WMX schedule, licensing and rules, please click HERE.
The class structure includes 36 classes for youth riders on 50cc bikes all the way up to vet and senior classes. The race will follow a supercross format, using heat races and last chance qualifiers to seed the field of riders into a main event in each class.
Live streaming will be provided by RacerTV.com on Monday, March 7. Race fans from across the world will have the opportunity to watch their favorite racers battle in the finals for the number one plate.
